Big news today for all X fans – Bryan Singer has taken to Twitter to confirm the return of several big names for X-Men: Days of Future Past. With the film telling the story of a future where mutants are hunted by Sentinels, and being set after any of the previous X-Men films, that leaves open the possibility that pretty much anybody could return… and return they shall.
Firstly, Singer took to Twitter to post the following:
“I’d like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, & Nicholas Hoult to #XMEN for #DaysOfFuturePast”
For the casual fans amongst you, that means the return from X-Men: First Class of Charles Xavier (McAvoy), Mystique (Lawrence), Magneto (Fassbender) and Beast (Hoult). As a big fan of the style, flow and feel of First Class, consider this brilliant news in my eyes. The thing is, Singer wasn’t done Tweeting for the day, quickly following up his initial Tweet with:
So that means that both the younger and older versions of Charles Xavier/Professor X and Magneto will be featured? Consider my mind a little blown. Add to this that it seems a given that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will feature in at least a small role, and I’m a very happy X fan. Now just give me Gambit…
